A New Code, Same Creative Energy

The Greystanes Devils Junior Rugby League Club End of Year photoshoot marked a first for us - our first time shooting rugby league - and it couldn’t have been a better introduction. Across two full days, we photographed 24 teams and up to 250 players, from Under 6 through to Under 16, covering both boys’ and girls’ teams.

Bold Aesthetic, Strong Club Identity

Creatively, we set out to deliver something bold and polished. The Devils’ green, white, and red jerseys popped perfectly against a charcoal grey backdrop, creating a strong visual contrast that elevated the club’s branding. Our signature portrait lighting was locked in throughout the shoot, giving every player — regardless of age — a confident, professional look while keeping the energy fun and approachable.

Making Any Space Work

The shoot was hosted in a local hall - not a large venue, but more than sufficient for what we needed to produce. This project reinforced a key strength of our workflow: with enough floor space, we can work in almost any environment. Our fully portable studio setup allows us to bring a high-end media day experience to local clubs, even when access to large facilities isn’t an option.

Live Energy, Real-Time Reactions

One of the standout elements across both days was the atmosphere. Parents gathered around our live tethered screens, watching pre-edited images appear in real time as we shot. Seeing kids react to their portraits - and parents watching proudly from the sidelines - added an extra layer of excitement and connection to the experience.

Rugby league uniforms have serious presence on camera. The colour, textures, and detailing translated beautifully under studio lighting, giving each portrait a strong, dynamic feel that suited the sport perfectly.

A Successful Finish to the Season

From start to finish, the Greystanes Devils End of Year photoshoot was a huge success — great energy, smooth execution, and imagery that captured the pride, personality, and community of the club. A big thank you to everyone involved for trusting us with the shoot. We had an absolute blast — and we’re looking forward to more rugby league projects ahead.
